Carmen Marietta Broom Remembered With Love As Family Raises Support For Funeral Costs And Granddaughter Care

Carmen Marietta Broom, remembered as a beloved family elder with a joyful spirit, has passed away after a severe stroke that began on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026.

Lincoln Berry III organized a May 22, 2026 fundraiser in Carmen’s honor to help cover funeral costs and support care for Carmen’s granddaughter.

The fundraiser had raised $840 toward a $9K goal through 14 donations at the time of the post.

Family members described Carmen as kind, strong, loving, and deeply important to immediate and extended relatives and friends.

Carmen had cared for a granddaughter after the loss of an oldest child several years ago, and loved ones said that commitment reflected a nurturing and steady heart.

Chad Alexander Broom, Carmen’s last living and youngest child, is working to organize Carmen’s estate and will receive the funds for immediate family needs.

Details regarding memorial services will be announced at a later time, and the family will share obituary and funeral service information soon.
